A bit about me....
I grew up in Brisbane and relocated to Townsville (via Mount Isa) 25 years ago. My family (including husband and children) and I made the wonderful move to the lovely Sunshine Coast in 2018.

I have 3 amazing children, 21 year old twin girls (both working rurally as nurses!) and a 14 year old son.

Earlier in my parenting journey and midwifery career, I was very involved with the multiple birth association, including being the guest speaker for expectant multiple birth parents evenings, with the unique perspective of being both a mother of multiples and a midwife to many multiple birth families.
​
I have had the enormous pleasure and privilege of being a midwife, fulfilling my childhood dream, for over 23 years and a nurse for even longer! During this time, I have worked in many aspects of maternity care provision throughout the pregnancy continuum, including providing antenatal care and education, extensive experience in caring for women in labour and the provision of postnatal and newborn care. Additional roles have provided me the opportunity to educate at a tertiary level for many years while concurrently working clinically as a midwife. The academic side of my career has also provided me the opportunity to be involved in research studies, completion of my Masters of Midwifery and invited to contribute chapters in a well recognised midwifery skills textbook.

The culmination of my own experiences and lessons that I have learnt as a mother and midwife are directly transferable to meet the unique needs of every family, throughout the antenatal and postnatal period. My aim is to ensure that your transition and/or addition to parenthood is empowering and fulfilling, creating happy and healthy families!
I am a member of the Australian College of Midwives (ACM) and competently and confidently provides safe, effect care in accordance with the guidelines of the ACM’s “National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and Referral”.
